About Hope Scarves
When Lara MacGregor was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 30, 7 months pregnant with her second son, a woman she never met, but with whom she shared a mutual friend sent her a package. Inside were beautiful scarves she wore during her battle with cancer and a note saying, “You can do this.” The scarves were both practical and inspiring. And, knowing someone else had worn the scarves and beat cancer helped Lara believe she could do it too. Not long after Lara finished treatment, she went to a Young Survivors Coalition Conference. Lara packed several scarves in hopes that she could pass them along to another woman as had so graciously been done for her. There, Lara met Roberta and they laughed together as Lara showed her the different ways to wear a scarf. Upon the completion of her treatment Roberta sent the scarves back to Lara. Lara had since moved and one of the first friend’s she met was starting treatment. Lara brought over a scarf to Brooke’s house one night and they talked about what it was like to lose your hair with tears and laughter. This whole time Lara couldn’t stop thinking about the amazing journey these scarves were on.

Hope Scarves was created to capture the stories of courageous women and encourage others by passing along scarves and stories of hope. We hope when each woman wraps a Hope Scarf around her head she feels the strength and determination of the women who wore it before her.

Today Lara MacGregor is healthy and enjoying all the fun of raising two energetic boys with her husband Jason. The baby Lara was pregnant with when diagnosed sits on her lap in this photo. He is a healthy, enthusiastic four year old. Lara believes starting Hope Scarves is a meaningful way to pass along the love and encouragement she received when she was going through cancer.

Chris & Emily’s Wedding

Here are some images from Chris & Emily’s Louisville Wedding at St. Agnes Church and The Brown Hotel. Although Chris is blind and could not see the beautiful details of the day he certainly can see Emily’s true beauty. They were a sweet couple who truly enjoyed their wedding celebration. Alicia from Weekend Wedding Warriors helped everything to run so smoothly. Other vendors from the wedding included Nanz & Kraft, Magnolia Photo Booth, and The Sharie Bardo Explosion Band.

Alison & Bobby Wedding

Alison and Bobby chose many “Your Wedding Essentials” vendors for their wedding at the Seelbach this past June. Nanz & Kraft has been a member of YWE for over three years and was honored to work with all their friends on Alison & Bobby’s wedding flowers. On a wedding day, often couples are anxious and nervous about this bid day that have spent a large amount of time, energy and money putting together. So on the wedding day, when a couple is able to relax and be fun and playful. They are obviously not only in love, but they love to be together. Just watching them together makes you smile. During their reception, Alison and Bobby’s good friend, Carl, spoke of that trait and how watching them together made people believe in love. His words were so personal and touching that as I was watching and listening to that moment unfold, I knew I had to use his words to share their story.
